Cosmetology Students working together

The Cosmetology Program is an approved training program with the Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology. The student is required to complete 1,000 documented hours in the areas of hair, skin, and nails. Upon completion of this program, the student will be prepared to take the state licensing exam to become licensed as a Cosmetology Operator. On passing practical and written exams administered by the Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology, the student will be issued a Massachusetts Class II license to work as an Operator under the supervision of a Cosmetologist with a Class 1 license. The student may start an entry-level position in the cosmetology industry in any area of hair, skin, and nails upon passing the state exam. Upon working full-time for two years with proper documentation, the Board of Cosmetology must be contacted to apply for a Class 1 license.
