The Health Careers Program is designed to prepare you for career entry, advancement and continuing education by introducing you to a broad range of career opportunities and options in the health care field. In the Health Careers freshman, sophomore and junior program you will study the history of health care, health care systems, basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, legal and ethical issues, communication, interpersonal skills and learn how to obtain vital signs and assess patients. In the Nursing Assistant Training program, you will develop and demonstrate technical skills and knowledge. You will learn in the classroom, simulation lab and you will provide direct patient care in many clinical settings. This is a comprehensive program in which one skill builds on the previously learned skill and knowledge to bring students to higher levels of understanding and competency as health care workers.
