The Albert F. Argenziano School is driven by the mission of supporting and fostering an educational environment that results in the development of students who are literate in all subject areas; experienced in current technologies; able to think critically, behave ethically, lead healthy lives, and assume the responsibilities of participation in a multicultural and multiracial society. In the Argenziano School community, all students, families, teachers, and staff feel welcome, safe, are treated with dignity and respect, and are free from discrimination and harm.

School Administration

The Argenziano School is named after a former superintendent of Somerville Public Schools who served from 1993 to 2005.

Learning Opportunities Offered at AFAS

The Argenziano serves a diverse and dynamic community, including English Language Learners in grades 1 through 5. Instruction at the Argenziano is customized for each child and follows the district core curriculum. Learn more.

School report card

The Argenziano School regularly reports demographic and student progress data to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This data is used to develop the annual No Child Left Behind progress report card for the Argenziano School. The 2023 Argenziano school report card is available on the DESE website.
