Participate in programs and services for families with young children
- Home Visiting Program for Infants

- Developmental Screening: Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), a free developmental screening tool for families with children 2 months to 5 years old.

Get involved in your child's learning
- Family and Community Liaisons: If you have any questions about your child’s school experience or want access to resources in the community, reach out to your school liaison. See their contact information here.
- Interpretation for school meetings: You may request an interpreter for parent-teacher conferences and other school meetings. Ask your school liaison to make a request on your behalf.
- English for SPS Parents: Join English classes to meet other parents and learn how to support your child’s education.
- Volunteer Program: Offer your skills, talents, and time to help more children learn!

- Basic Needs and Housing Support Services: If your family is experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, or if you are a youth in the foster system, we have a dedicated team to help children get equal access to education. Contact Regina Bertholdo at 617-625-6600 x6994 or 781-468-6422 (cell).
- Find more programs and services: Search for resources and programs in the Somerville area, such as summer programming, after school activities, food resources, childcare, basic needs, and more. You may search using the language of your choice.
The Somerville Family Learning Collaborative (SFLC), established in 2011, is the department of family and community engagement of the Somerville Public Schools. The SFLC’s mission is to enhance the capacity of families and schools to support children’s learning and wellbeing by collaborating with community partners and promoting welcoming, responsive schools and programs.
