Families of students in the Elm Community at Somerville High School can reach out to Ana Nascimento (Portuguese) and Jasmine Perez (Spanish) for newcomer support. Call 617-629-5270.
MLPAC
The Multilingual Learner Parent Advisory Council (MLPAC) is made up of parents and legal guardians of Multilingual Learners/English Learners to discuss academic and social issues those students face. Summer SPELL Program
SPELL is a summer program for multilingual learners at the beginning stages of English in grades 1 through 12. The SPELL program provides students with theme-based language learning experiences that develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Enrichment activities will be built in throughout the week. This program is by referral only by students' ESL teachers.
Parent English Classes
Any parent, family member, or guardian of a student in Somerville Public Schools may enroll in English Basic Literacy classes offered at various locations.
