Swimming Curriculum at Somerville Public Schools
Every third grader in Somerville participates in nine weeks of swimming class at the Ginny Smithers Pool. Students build confidence moving in the water, and instructors use noodles and gentle encouragement for non-swimmers. Students also learn boat safety in kayaks at the end of the program.
Somerville Public Schools also offers swimming and boating programming for certain classes in partnership with Waypoint Adventure.
