The Adventure Summer Program is open to ALL Kindergarten to 6th Grade students. The Summer Adventure Program runs at the Healey School, scheduled according to the Somerville Public Schools calendar. Field trips, hands-on activities and lots of outdoor time create a fun and exciting environment that also supports the SPS grade-level curriculum. Registration begins the first week of April and will remain open until full.

Adventure Summer Program Counselors-In-Training (CIT) for 7-9th Graders

Registration Forms for 2019 Adventure Summer Program Counselors-in-Training. Fill out and email to Robyn Smith. Regsitration begins April 1, 2019.

This program is available to all students who are entering the 7th, 8th or 9th grade. Training will consist of a seven week leadership program where students will learn how to create age-appropriate activities when working with children. Students will also learn about important issues facing pre-teens or teens in the world today, participate in service learning in our own community, and discuss what it is like for them to grow up in our own community of Somerville today. Above all, they will begin to learn the skills needed to be a leader, a successful citizen, and a good friend.

Students attend all field trips in the Adventure Program and act as counselors in training assigned to groups where Lead Teachers support them along with the supervision of the CIT Coordinator and Assistant. The fee to participate in the CIT program is $75 per week. The first week payment is required with the registration form. The weekly fee is due one week in advance. A sliding scale is available for those who qualify. Documentation is required to apply for the sliding scale. Registration will coincide with the Adventure Summer Program registration dates and uses the same registration form as younger children.
