Somerville Public Schools has an exciting opportunity for community members and families to join school district leaders in an effort to help shape the future of Somerville Public Schools — and we want YOU to be part of it.

As we begin designing a new facility to replace the Winter Hill School (including potential space to accommodate students from the Brown School), the district is bringing together a diverse, collaborative group with firsthand insight into what students, families, and educators need in a modern learning environment.

The New School Building Visioning Forum will help guide design decisions that support community growth and shape Somerville schools for generations to come.

This full-day design and visioning session will be held on:
Tuesday, January 20
Dojo @ Somernova (15 Properzi Way, Somerville)
8:30am – 2:30pm (lunch provided)

Participants will dive into a series of forward-thinking activities, including:

  • Understanding students’ developmental needs
  • Exploring enrollment scenarios and their impacts
  • Defining effective instructional practices
  • Identifying school design features that support the district’s vision
  • Shaping big-picture ideas for shared and community spaces

Space is limited, and participants will be selected to ensure a broad range of perspectives that reflect the diversity of our community. We encourage anyone with interest and a desire to engage with fellow stakeholders to apply for a spot in this collaborative group.

If you are interested in participating, please sign up here.
Entries will be accepted through December 23, 2025.
If you are selected to participate in the  New School Building Visioning Forum, the district will reach out to you in early January.

Thank you for your interest in supporting Somerville Public Schools!
