Regular School Committee Meetings

Current Agenda and Call for the Week:

The Somerville School Committee holds regular meetings twice monthly. Regular meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month, unless otherwise posted, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at Somerville City Hall, 93 Highland Ave., 2nd floor. 

Watch or Participate in a Regular S.C. Meeting

Join the Zoom meeting: Residents will need to register through the link on the Agenda (please see above).

Watch the meeting live: on the City of Somerville GovTV station online or broadcast on local cable channels 22 & RCN 613/13/.

Request Simultaneous Translation: of the Regular School Committee meeting in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole, you must register 48 hours in advance and indicate your preferred language.  Residents requiring translation will be able to listen to the meeting through the following link, but will need to watch the meeting using one of the methods below. Participate in Public Comment Virtually:  To participate in Public Comment virtually, please use the following Zoom link: https://k12somerville.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_u8Awy93fR6OhvC37Xib1zg, Meeting ID: 810 5048 0087, Password: SPSSC25. The Zoom link will open to the public at 6:45 p.m. for Monday’s Regular School Committee meeting to allow constituents to sign up for Public Comment. Once in the Zoom, those wanting to sign up for Public Comment will have to enter their name and address in the chat box and hit send. The signup will close once the meeting starts at 7:00 p.m., just as it does at in-person meetings. Please note that you will not be able to “watch” the meeting via zoom, you must use the GovTv link to watch the meeting. Subcommittee Meetings

Members of the public are welcome to attend Subcommittee meetings and meetings of the Committee for Long Range Planning. Please read the Call of the Week document at the top of this page for the link to the meeting. Find a list of subcommittees on the Somerville School Committee homepage.

Subcommittee Meetings and Subcommittee Meetings of the Whole are held via Zoom. Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings. Find meeting handout and materials in this google drive. Residents may find meeting dates, locations, agendas, and methods for participating in School Committee meetings by visiting the City of Somerville Events Calendar. Regular School Committee Meetings and Subcommittee Meeting dates, locations, agendas, and methods for participating in School Committee meetings are posted on the City of Somerville Events Calendar. In order to view School Committee meetings, please type in "school committee" under the "Department" field. Pursuant to Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2025, meetings of the School Committee will be conducted via hybrid participation. We will post an audio recording, audio-video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of these proceedings, after the meeting, on the City of Somerville website and local cable access government channels.
