SHS Student Musicians Attend Concert and Master Class with Local Jazz Band
Accomplished local jazz band, Sharp Nines, visited Somerville High School and played a set in the auditorium to an appreciative audience. The SHS Band, Chorus, Advanced Guitar Class, Orchestra and the several members of the Highlander Theatre Company attended. Drum teacher Jake Gabriszeski drummed for one song with the band, then student musicians in the SHS Band got on stage to play a song, appropriately called "Sharp Nines," with the band. The Sharp Nines band leader and students had a brief discussion after the song to figure out to fine tune, then they played part of the song again with their feedback. Big thank you to the Sharp Nines for volunteering their time and for the wonderful concert.
