Finding Food in Somerville
A special note about Thanksgiving Break and December:
Some families may need some extra support over the next few weeks. Families may attend one Free Food Market per month and there is a new market option at the Healey School starting on Tuesday, December 16 from 2:45-4:30 p.m. Please see below for more information. Liaisons are available to help students and families locate more resources. Thank you to our school PTAs for their donations and work for SPS families!
For Somerville Public Schools students:

Free School Breakfast and Lunch in school everyday! Check the School Meals Menu daily.
- Breakfast for prekindergarten at 8:15 a.m.
- Breakfast for grades K–8 and Next Wave / Full Circle students at 7:30 a.m.
- Breakfast at Somerville High school at 7:15 a.m.
For Somerville Public Schools families:

Free Food Market. The West Somerville Neighborhood School (WSNS) and East Somerville Community School (ESCS) host Free Food Markets for SPS families monthly. Starting in December 2025, there will be a third market at the Healey School. Please speak to your child's school liaison to get a pass for the market. Families may take food if they have a pass and markets are open while supplies last. Families may visit one food market per month. All markets take place on Tuesdays, from 2:45–4:30 p.m.

- Project Bread Food Resource hotline - with counselors available to speak in 180 languages. They can help families find food assistance and access the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
