On July 25th, the MA Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) will issue Summer Pandemic-EBT benefits to eligible K-12 students in Massachusetts. The Summer P-EBT amount will be a one-time payment of $120/eligible child.

Who is eligible for Summer P-EBT?

  • Your family may receive Summer P-EBT if your child attended one of the CEP (community eligibility program) schools during the 2022-23 school year:
    • Arthur D. Healey School
    • Argenziano School
    • East Somerville Community School
    • Next Wave/ Full Circle
    • Somerville High School
    • Winter Hill Community Innovation School
  • If your child attended the Benjamin Brown School, Capuano Early Childhood Center, John F. Kennedy School, or West Somerville Neighborhood School during the 2022-23 school year, and your child was approved by for free or reduced-price meals at any point during the pandemic, including the 2022-2023 school year or during this summer, your student may be eligible to receive Summer P-EBT.

Who is NOT eligible for Summer P-EBT?

  • Students who graduated in 2022 or moved out of state will not be eligible.
  • Students who attended a virtual academy full time for the school year 2022-2023 or were homeschooled are not eligible.

What if I received a P-EBT card by mistake or my family does not need the benefit?

We ask that you simply destroy the card and dispose of it.

Do I need to apply for Summer P-EBT?

No. There is no application process for P-EBT. DTA will send a letter to explain how the benefit will be issued.

How will the benefit be issued?

  • P-EBT Card: If you received P-EBT in the past, check the EBT or P-EBT card you already have.  If you are new to P-EBT, check your mail for a P-EBT card or look for funds on the EBT card you already have. The DTA letter will also tell you if your P-EBT was put on an EBT or P-EBT card.
  • SNAP EBT Card: If your child was part of a SNAP household when the first P-EBT benefit was issued (this could be a few years ago), the benefit will be automatically added to your household’s SNAP EBT card on July 25th.

What if I lost my EBT or P-EBT card?

  • To get a replacement EBT card, call the DTA Assistance Line, use DTAConnect (if your case is still open), or go to a local DTA office.
  • To get a replacement P-EBT card, request a new P-EBT card on DTAConnect.com here.
