COVID-19 Test before school starts again
The Department of School Health Services requests that all students take a rapid test on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning before their return to school after break (Tuesday, January 3, or Wednesday, January 4). Testing is especially important if the student has any symptoms of COVID-19 or if they have been exposed to someone who tested positive. Staff are asked to test before their return to work or schools. Please report all positive test results by filling out the online reporting form on the Somerville Public Schools website. Please contact your school nurse if you have questions.
Masking strongly encouraged
Students and staff at Somerville Public Schools are strongly encouraged to wear a mask for at least the first two weeks of January. Masks can keep our community members safe from influenza and COVID-19.
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines can also improve your safety by reducing the risk of serious illness. Vaccines are widely available at doctor’s offices, pharmacies, and Somerville's Health & Human Services Department.
