Accomplishments and Aspirations of SHS Graduates

This is the time of year when Somerville High School is buzzing with news of college acceptances and scholarship offers. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us in celebrating the accomplishments of all of our students on:

  • Somerville High School Scholarship Night: Wednesday, May 11th starting at 7:00 PM
  • Somerville High School Class Day: Friday, June 3rd; this event has limited seating and will be rebroadcast on local cable Channel 15
  • Somerville High School Graduation: Monday, June 6th; this is a ticketed event and will be rebroadcast on local cable Channel 15.

  • NEW! Jessica Menjivar, a graduate of the East Somerville Community School, plans to attend Harvard University in the Fall. She is the Valedictorian of the SHS Class of 2011
  • NEW! John Thomas, a graduate of the Brown and Kennedy Schools, heads to MIT in the fall. He is the Salutatorian of the SHS Class of 2011, is an exemplar of a student-athlete
  • NEW! Jacalyn Smith, a graduate of the West Somerville Neighborhood School, was inspired to study Mechanical Engineering through her training in the Metal Fabrication Shop at Somerville High's Center for Career, Vocational and Technical Education. Jacalyn is the 2011 Most Outstanding Vocational Student of the Year.
